What belongs in the vehicle, not only in the suitcase

Ski bags are long and fill a sedan boot fast. For two guests with skis and a snowboard, a V-Class or similar van makes more sense than a sleek sedan. Routes drivers actually use

For Zlatibor the corridor runs toward Užice and Čajetina; GPS pins to Zlatibor apartments often end on narrow streets where the exact entrance number matters more than the settlement name. Stara Planina heads toward Pirot and Babin Zub, with wind that changes conditions faster than a summer map suggests.

Winter vehicle readiness

On the mountain section winter tyres are not optional luxury. Chains in the boot and a driver who has already climbed those grades in January separate a calm arrival from sitting in a queue below the ski centre.
